BEDDING
We provide Kuranda beds, bedding, and an assortment of sleeping pads
but feel free to bring whatever you feel will help your dog adjust
more easily to his temporary environment. Most dogs have a favorite
blanket, t-shirt, stuffed animal, etc
so please bring any comfort
items you like.
TOYS
We have toys here but all dogs have their favorite toy or toys.
You are encouraged to bring whatever toys you think will make your
dog's stay here more enjoyable.
EXERCISE
Exercise is an important part of boarding a dog. We see to it that
your dog gets out of his kennel several times a day for fresh air
and some time to run around outdoors. Of course, some dogs love
this while others can't wait to get back indoors. We encourage your
dog to stay out long enough to stretch his legs and take care of
his bathroom duties. And
we keep a good supply of tennis balls
here for dogs that are ready for a good workout.
TLC
Hugs, kisses and belly rubs are completely, totally and always free
of charge.
DIET
We provide a wide variety of Pedigree dog foods here. However, if your dog is on a special
or prescription diet, we ask that you supply that food. If you prepare
homemade food for your dog, place individual portions in Ziplock
bags; we will refrigerate the meals and then warm the food at mealtime.
We want to be sure your dog eats well while he is here so it is
best not to change his diet while boarding.
TREATS
We provide milkbone treats here, but we know each dog has his own
favorite brand of treat such as Pupperoni's, Snausages, or one of
the zillion other products offered. You are more than welcome to
bring treats for your dog and we will make sure that he receives
them according to your instructions.
MEDICATIONS
Now more than ever, dogs are being prescribed medications for ailments
ranging from allergies to zoonosis. Feel free to bring the medications,
vitamins and supplements that you normally give your dog at home.
Be sure that all medications are clearly labeled with your dog's
name and the proper dosage and we will be sure that the drugs are
administered on schedule
and at no charge to you.
WEATHER
South Texas is famous for its warm winters and hot summers. It is
not very often that we have cold days but when we do, it is pretty
cold for us thin blooded Texans. Some little dogs shiver and shake
when the temperatures drop below 60 so during winter stays, don't
forget to pack their sweaters.
CHECKING ON YOUR DOG
At anytime you want to check on your dog, feel free to call. We
know you have worked hard for your time off and want you to enjoy
it to the fullest. If it puts your mind at ease to call and check
on your dog, please do so. Some customers who travel with laptops
also check on their dogs via email.
